All You Need to Know About Your USD Account

Written by Pouchers Desk

Your Pouchers USD account gives you a real US checking account number, issued the moment your KYC is approved. No waitlist, no paperwork, no branch visit. Once it's live, anyone can send you US dollars directly, the same way they'd pay any other US bank account: an employer running payroll, a client paying an invoice, or a platform like Upwork or Stripe sending out your earnings.

How you receive money

Your account is addressable on three payment rails. Each works differently, so it helps to know which one is being used to pay you.

Rail

What it is

Fee

Deposit timeline

ACH

The standard domestic transfer network used by banks and payroll systems across the US

0.7%, min $2, max $10

1 to 3 business days

FedNow

The Federal Reserve's instant payment network

0.7%, min $2, max $10

Instant

Wire

A direct bank-to-bank transfer, often used for larger or time-sensitive payments

Flat $20

1 business day

Whoever is paying you will need your account and routing number to send through ACH or Wire, or your account details for FedNow. You'll find all of this on your account screen.

Please Note: Your account doesn't support SWIFT. If a sender asks you for a SWIFT code, let them know to use ACH or wire instead with the account and routing number on your account screen.

What transactions are permitted

  1. First-party payments you send yourself from your own bank, fintech app, or brokerage account

  2. Third-party payments from a registered business

  3. Third-party payments from a family member's bank account, if you share a surname

  4. Third-party person-to-person payments under $4,000

Please Note: Payments outside these categories may be flagged or returned.

Using a US address

Some senders, especially payroll systems and certain platforms, ask for a US address linked to the account before they'll release a payment. If you're asked for one, use the address provided on your account details screen. It's there specifically for this.

About microdeposits

If your bank sends a microdeposit to verify your account, it won't show up as an instant balance change. It's added on once a later deposit comes in above the minimum deposit amount, and it can take up to a day to arrive. You'll get a notification when it lands.

If a service like Plaid asks you for a 3-letter code tied to the microdeposit, check the microdeposit's notification. The code is part of its description text.

What this account can't be used for

Your USD account is built for receiving legitimate payments: salary, freelance income, invoices, and similar. It can't be used to receive payments related to crypto, P2P transfers, betting, or forex trading. Payments tied to these will be declined or flagged for review.
