Your Pouchers GBP account gives you a real UK account number and sort code, issued the moment your KYC is approved. No waitlist, no paperwork, no branch visit. Once it's live, you can receive GBP from your own UK account or from a UK-registered business, the same way you'd receive money into any UK bank account.
How you receive money
Your account is addressable on one payment rail, with a fallback for large amounts.
Rail | What it is | Fee | Deposit timeline |
Faster Payments (FPS) | The standard UK instant payment network, used by most online banking apps and payroll systems | 0.7%, min $2, max $10 | ~5 minutes, up to 30 minutes for larger amounts. Runs 24/7/365, no cutoffs |
BACS | Triggered automatically for deposits above £1,000,000 | 0.7%, min $2, max $10 | 3 business days |
Whoever is paying you needs your sort code and account number to send GBP. You'll find both on your account screen.
Please Note: The minimum deposit is £2.00. There's no stated maximum, deposits above £1,000,000 simply route through BACS instead of Faster Payments.
Deposits are also held in review by our banking partner before final status is confirmed, so the timelines above are a guide, not a guarantee.
What transactions are permitted
First-party payments you send yourself from your own UK bank account
Third-party payments from a UK registered business
Please Note: Unlike your USD account, GBP has no person-to-person allowance. A friend or family member can't send money into your GBP account, even if you share a surname. Only your own UK account or a UK business can send you GBP.
Where the sender's account must be
The sender's bank account must be UK issued. Payments from EU accounts aren't supported as senders, regardless of where you're located. What matters is where the sender's account is domiciled, not where you live.
About payment references
Each Faster Payments deposit is matched to your account using your account number alone, no message or reference is required from your sender. If they want to add one for their own records, they can, and it'll appear on their bank statement, but it won't affect whether your deposit is matched.
What this account can't be used for
Your GBP account is built for receiving legitimate payments: salary, freelance income, invoices, and business settlements. It can't be used to receive payments related to crypto, P2P transfers, betting, or forex trading. Payments tied to these will be declined or flagged for review.
