A declined transaction does not necessarily mean your money is lost. Your Pouchers card may be declined for several reasons. Here are common causes and how to resolve them.

1. Using Your Card on Restricted Platforms

Your Pouchers card may not work with certain restricted merchants or in restricted countries.

If your transaction is declined, check whether the merchant or country is supported before trying again. See restricted platforms here

2. Insufficient Card Balance

Ensure your card balance covers the full transaction amount. Some merchants may apply additional charges due to currency conversion.

Example: If you attempt to pay $4 with a card balance of $3.99, the transaction may be declined.

Keep a small balance buffer to help cover possible currency-conversion or merchant charges.

Important: Each declined card payment incurs a $0.50 fee. Check your balance before retrying to avoid repeated declines and additional fees.

3. Incorrect Card Details

If you are making an online payment, double-check the following details:

  • Card number

  • Expiry date

  • CVV

  • Billing address, if required

Ensure the details match those displayed in your Pouchers app.
